Frosters Suit For Ultra-Cold.
Scilabub’s Frosters Suits have been specially developed for comfortable and continuous use in cold rooms. The outer layer is waterproof (resists condensation) but is breathable so as not to become
clammy. The high efficiency insulation reduces bulk. The Suits offer the same technology and protection as that of the Frosters Cryogenic Gloves. The suit offers optimum protection for the Torso,
Arms and Legs against the effects of spills and splashes of cryogenic material.
Frosters suits are in two parts. A bib and brace overall with long shoulder straps, with Velcro fastening, to adjust to a wide range of heights. The waist is elasticated. Over this fits a jacket of similar materials and this
fastens with a Velcro strip all the way down the front. There are also Velcro fastenings on the cuffs. There are no outer pockets but the jacket has an inner pocket.The suits are of three layers but the inner overall omits the insulating layer above the waist (covered by the overlapping jacket) for comfort and to reduce bulk.
The outer layer, of royal blue, woven, polyamide, has a waterproof coating to resist condensed water on cold surfaces. Yet it remains permeable to water vapour so that there is no clammy condensation inside. However,
it should be noted that the stitch holes are not sealed (to reduce bulk) and, whilst this could allow liquid ingress, it has not been found a problem in normal use.
The middle layer is of special polyolefin/polyester micro-fibre, which is almost twice as effective in thermal insulation as a similar thickness of down. This minimises heat transfer without being so thick as to be
cumbersome. The inner layer is of cotton for comfortable wear.
The Jacket has a hanging loop inside the collar, so that they may be hung in a convenient place, away from pools of condensation, when not in use.
